Description

Viu 1 is Viu Manent's iconic flagship wine, a tribute to the winery's founder, Don Miguel Viu Manent.

This elegant wine represents all of Viu Manent's experience and specialization in Malbec.

It is a unique, limited edition wine with numbered bottles produced from a rigorous selection of our best grapes.

It comes from the old Malbec vines of block N° 4 of the San Carlos vineyard, established there more than one hundred years ago.

These naturally balanced vines, due to their age, have a very low yield of very small clusters of grapes, with an extraordinary concentration of fruit.

Pairing and Specifications

This outstanding wine needs to be paired with intense dishes, such as osso buco with saffron risotto, wild boar or lamb-filled pasta.

Slow-cooked beef cuts.

Herb-crusted leg of lamb with beetroot trilogy.

• Format: 750ml bottle
• Serve at 17-18 degrees.
• Decant. Aging potential 12-15 years.

Tasting Notes

Deep cherry red color.

On the nose, this Viu1 stands out for its elegance, character and clarity, with aromas of red and blue fruits, fresh plum, violets and mineral notes.

On the palate, it is a very balanced wine, with fine tannins, fresh, juicy, deep, defined, with a lot of energy and persistence.
